Calling all Summit County artists!  The PCSC Arts Council is pleased to announce a Call for Artists for the 2019 Summit Arts Showcase, located at the Red Barn in Oakley, UT on July 12 & 13. This event, hosted by the PCSC Arts Council, is an annual juried summer art show, the only one of its kind on the Eastern side of the County.

Call For Artists // Tunnel Murals: Old Town Transit Center

Park City Municipal Corporation (PCMC) is currently requesting proposals for public art for a pedestrian and bicycle tunnel known as the Old Town Transit Center connector. Proposals will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Friday, March 10. “This is one of the final tunnels in City limits to be commissioned for public art,” states Jenny Diersen, PCMC Economic Development and Special Events Program Manager and staff to the Public Art Advisory Board. “We are excited to see what artists propose for the space, and to see this tunnel completed as it provides connectivity between Poison Creek Trail, Deer Valley Drive and the Old Town Transit Center.”

The Summit County Public Art Advisory Board (‘SCPAAB’) has released this open call for a literary art projection project called Project Your Voice. The purpose is to create spaces for self-expression for our community through transforming literary arts into visual installations.

2019 FIS Snowboard, Freestyle, Freeski World Championships Breaking Boundaries Youth Film Contest Winners Announced

Jack Price was named the winner of the 2019 Breaking Boundaries Snowboard, Freestyle, and Freeski World Championships Youth Film Contest with his short film titled “Pushing the Boundaries.” The film contest was open to young filmmakers ages 21 and younger to tell their own stories about breaking boundaries.

Park City Singers is Recruiting New Members

The Park City Singers is a community choir welcome to all, and they are currently recruiting new members!

Renee Mox Hall, member of the Park City Singers explains “as a non-audition choir, beginners are welcome and not all members read music. Newer vocalists benefit from singing with those with more experience. All members receive a CD recording of their part which is also very instrumental to learning music. Choir membership is a learning experience for members, a contribution to and connection with the community and an avenue to new friendships."

Show Off Your Creative Talent at the Summit County Fair

The Summit County Fair is upon us! It’s special time for the community to come together to celebrate the culture and heritage of Summit County. The annual summer event brings a full week of food, fun, exhibits, demonstrations, contests, and rides. In addition to the demolition derby, the livestock showings, the 4H displays, parade, pie baking contest, and the little buckeroo rodeo, the Fair hosts the Fine Arts Exhibit which gives local artists the opportunity to share their artwork with the public.

The Summit County Public Art Advisory Board ("SCPAAB") has released an RFP for artwork in the newly constructed South Summit Services Building in Kamas, UT to creatively celebrate multicultural heritage and the stunning natural environment in Summit County. SCPAAB is seeking artists to propose a concept for highly creative three-dimensional artwork to be placed in the interior hallway of the new building.

Hit Broadway Musical 'Hamilton' Inspires Letter Writing Competition for Utah High School Students

Many of us Utahns felt the disappointment when tickets to Hamilton sold out in a few hours last week, but there is still a chance for a high school student in our community to attend. The State of Utah, in an incredible public/private partnership, is sponsoring students from every corner of the state to attend a performance of Hamilton through The New Nation Project letter writing competition.The competition gives high school students (grades 9-12) an opportunity to write to their legislator about an issue they care about and propose a solution.

The Future is Now // Engaging Artists and Local Youth in a Creative Collaboration

Art serves as a mechanism to bring community together. It inspires conversation. It is an outlet for expression. Its product can generate hope. Street art is a purposeful tool for community activation. It is a contemporary form of creative expression designed to engage the public, generate an emotional response, and symbolically communicate an idea.

Snyderville Basin Special Recreation District, Park City Summit County Arts Council, and the Summit County Public Art Advisory Board have come together to develop a project called The Future is Now to engage local young people in the creation of an interactive street art mural in the tunnel under Highway 224 -- a literal and figurative connection point for the Park City community.

Old Town Cellars & Kimball Art Center Seek the Soul of Park City

Old Town Cellars and Kimball Art Center have partnered to present an exciting Call for Art to be featured on an OTC wine label!

This project came to fruition through conversations that took place last summer when the KAC first reached out to OTC to develop their Sip + Sketch / Wine + Watercolor classes, which are held at OTC. The classes are taught by KAC instructors, and are meant to be fun and accessible for anyone to enjoy.  The wine, of course, is a nice addition to the art classes.
