Taking place parallel with Sundance, CreativeMornings will be hosting an event to celebrate all things SURREAL! Amy Shaffer, the co-creator of The Wonderment, will explore how new voices and ways of looking at the world drive our cultural and artistic movements— and how The Wonderment is working with Morph 3D and other VR partners to bring kids’ visions to life through a breakthrough mixed reality storytelling project. Along the way, they will discuss why we lose touch with our own childlike imaginations and how reconnecting with the strangeness, novelty and play we experienced as kids can give us powerful insights into our creativity.
Bonus! Enjoy breakfast provided by Woodland Biscuit Company, and coffee provided by Park City Coffee Roasters.
Amy Spittler Shaffer is the co-creator and creative director of The Wonderment, a non-profit digital platform and global community that connects kids to take creative action in their communities. The Wonderment has brought together people from over 100 countries to make youth-initiated projects happen from Costa Rica to Kenya to Australia and was nominated for a Webby for Best Youth Website, alongside PBS Kids and Teen Vogue.
Amy is an advocate for the youthful mind and what’s possible when we support young people’s voices and ideas. She has shared this message in places like TEDx, ISTE, General Assembly and SXSW and her work has been featured by Slate, the New York Times, MindShift and PBS.
