Songwriter Dan Fletcher was born on June 29, 1984 in Ithaca, New York. Born to an AWOL stonemason of the 60s and a navy-brat punk of the 70s, Dan grew up adoring chip-on-the-shoulder writers from Phil Ochs to Joe Strummer. His family headed west to Provo, Utah when we was young where he fell head over heels for Nirvana and began playing guitar at the age of 10.

By his early 20s, he’d become a veteran of the road, touring the US, Canada, Mexico, Europe and Asia in hardcore punk bands. At 25, he moved to New York City where he began to put his love for songwriters Kris Kristofferson, John Prine and Guy Clark to work to hone his own sound. Playing subways and parks, Fletcher learned to spin the sound of the American songwriter into the homespun storytelling of his favorite American authors from Carver to Kerouac to Abbey.

At 30, Fletcher settled down high up in Utah’s Wasatch Mountains, where he now resides with his wife and two young sons, beside the Jordanelle Reservoir in the town of Heber City.

In 2016, Fletcher self-released his debut solo record, Brooklyn Romantical. The album was recorded with Wes Johnson at Salt Lake’s Archive Records with a band consisting of Vincent Draper, Trever Hadley and Tate McCallum-Law. The album featured cameos from singer Laura Kiechle on the song “Earth’s Most Beautiful Liars" and author Mike Farfel on “The Man That I Am In Your Eyes.”
