Three lifelong musicians joined forces in the mountains of Utah in 2016. Snyderville Electric Band is the mind-blowing result.
Frontman and guitarist Hal O'Dell flows seamlessly from smooth, emotional vocals, up to a growl, and when needed all the way to a full-fledged R&B wail. Drummer Dan Lynch uses a lifetime of rock and jazz drumming experience to play it simple, fill it up, and everything in between. Bassist George Dymalski goes way past simple rhythm, with fat, driving, energetic grooves. But the magic comes from how these three play music TOGETHER. All the vocals, all the riffs, every hit on the drums, EVERYTHING, is done to advance the sound of the band. That sound is definitely high energy; dynamic, with a soulful and charismatic feel.
Their musical style flows out of the intersection of southern rock, classic rock and blues, with spicy bits added from here and there. Think Neil Young, The Allman Brothers and Kings Of Leon.
Original songs are the foundation of the Snyderville sound, with powerful, emotive lyrics and tasty arrangements. Covers are done to respect and celebrate the music of the original artist, not just to mimic it. The result is a set list that has a consistent, “Snyderville" style, while at the same time flowing dynamically from one interesting musical place to the next. And live show feedback? The most consistent observation is along the lines of “I can’t believe how full a sound you get out of a three piece band.” And with enough “you guys just killed it” to keep the show schedule filling up nicely after less than a year of working together. The band is also busy in the studio, with their first EP expected by later in 2017.
