Join some friends and fellow music lovers for a song circle at the Park City Library to ring in the spring. Come listen or share. All are welcome.
BRING YOUR ORIGINAL SONGS, POETRY, SPOKEN WORD, THOUGHTS AND LYRIC SHEETS!
We are hosting monthly activities that bring people together to share ideas and emotions through song, poetry, spoken word and more!
There are NO FEES associated with our song circles and songwriting groups. And non-musicians are welcome and encouraged to come listen.
Here are a few examples of what to expect at our meetings:
SONG CIRCLES: Observers are always welcome as well as performers. We generally get around the circle 1-3 times, depending on the circle size. Please feel free to bring new or old originals, songs you would like the group to provide feedback on, poetry you might want music to, music you might want help finding lyrics for, etc. Anything to engage your peers in the songwriting process. Most participants bring 5-10 printed copies of the lyrics they plan to share. If you don't want feedback on a song, that works too. Just let us know. Each person will have approx. 5 minutes per round. The main purpose of the group is to share original music but, if you want to play us a cover you really enjoy or have been working out a great arrangement for, that's cool too!
SONG WRITING GROUPS: These get togethers are more focused on writing and sharing ideas with the group. We will all participate in a variety of writing exercises to help encourage idea development and thinking "outside of the box". All levels welcome.
PROFESSIONAL WORKSHOPS: There are many talented, accomplished songwriters who tour through our area or live right around the corner. Based on group interest, we will be inviting these songwriters to facilitate workshops.
