Breaking Barriers

Breaking Barriers is a Cultural Accessibility Project in partnership between Art Access and the Utah Division of Arts & Museums to provide disability accessibility training and mentorship to Utahโ€™s cultural institutions at no cost.

Arts Council staff attended 6 weeks of Breaking Barriers Workshop provided by the Utah Division of Arts & Museums. Breaking Barriers is a Cultural Accessibility Project and is a partnership between Art Access and the Utah Division of Arts & Museums to provide disability accessibility training and mentorship to our stateโ€™s cultural institutions.

Funded in part by the Katherine W. & Ezekiel R. Dumke Foundation, Breaking Barriers provided 6 weeks of training workshops for staff of Utah cultural organizations. Workshop content was focused on accessibility needs for people with the following disabilities:

  • Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing/Deaf-Blind

  • Blind and Low Vision

  • Physical and Mobility

  • Neurodiverse and Sensory

  • Developmental

  • Learning

ASL Interpreting by Interwest Interpreters

Large Print Labels and Reading Materials

Spoken & Written Spanish Translation
