Request for Qualifications: Legacy on Display with Art-Filled Cabriolets

The Arts Council of Park City & Summit County (‘Arts Council’) is accepting applications from Qualified Artists for artwork to be placed on a series of decommissioned cabriolet cabins that reflect the theme “Community in Canyons Village” for Park City Community Foundation’s (PCCF) Fundraising Event, “Your Legacy on Display: Artful Cabriolets”, produced in partnership with Canyons Village Management Association (‘CVMA’), Vail Resorts Epic Promise Foundation and and Park City Mountain (‘PCM’), and Park City Community Foundation (‘PCCF’).

PROJECT GOALS: Park City Community Foundation and the Arts Council of Park City & Summit County (the “Arts Council”), in partnership with Canyons Village Management Association, Vail Resorts Epic Promise Foundation and Park City Mountain are seeking qualified Utah-based artists or artist teams to create original artworks for installation on six decommissioned Cabriolet cabins. These cabins will be sold as part of a fundraising initiative benefiting Park City Community Foundation.

The completed Cabriolet cabins will be installed at the Canyons Village Forum and will include donor recognition plaques acknowledging contributing supporters. Up to ten (10) artists will be selected as finalists to develop and refine conceptual approaches for the project. From this pool, six (6) artists will be commissioned to complete final artworks. Selected artists will enter a collaborative refinement phase with assigned donors following selection to further develop and finalize artwork concepts, responding to the theme "Community in Canyons Village” (i.e. Mountains, Adventure, Music, Events, or Culture).

Upon completion, all works will become outdoor public installations and will include donor recognition as appropriate.

PROJECT DETAILS: Each Cabriolet cabin measures approximately 66” long x 68” wide x 100” tall. Selected artists will be expected to apply artwork to the full exterior and interior surfaces of the cabin structure. All media will be considered; however, artists must account for long-term outdoor exposure in an alpine environment, including significant temperature fluctuations, snow, moisture, and UV exposure.

All completed works must be sealed with a high-durability, weather-resistant protective coating suitable for exterior installation. Cabriolet cabins will be retrofitted with a bench and table for functionality on display. Artwork should cover the entire structure.

Artists are responsible for all aspects of fabrication, production, installation coordination, and delivery of completed work.

PRESUPUESTO DEL PROYECTO:
