Ensuring Arts & Culture Thrives Since 1986

For 40 years, the Arts Council of Park City & Summit County has been ensuring Arts & Culture thrives in our community. As we wrap up our 40th year, we're celebrating four decades of supporting local artists, bringing people together through creative experiences, and helping make Arts & Culture an important part of life in Park City and Summit County.

Los Wizzards perform at Latino Arts Festival

We kicked off 2026 with the launch of our new website, making it easier than ever to discover local events, connect with artists, and find creative opportunities throughout our community. From there, the year just kept growing.

At the Latino Arts Festival, we welcomed Los Wizzards all the way from Miami and brought more than 2,000 fútbol fans together to watch Brazil take on Morocco in a FIFA World Cup watch party. Our Summit Arts Market welcomed a record number of artists, with more than 45 artists exhibiting and selling their work in Oakley. We returned to the trails for another successful Art on the Trails in August, brought artists together for the Monster Drawing Rally in September, supported the Summit County Fair Fine Art Show, and continued celebrating local creativity at the Art & Music Gallery Stroll.

At CREATE PC Local Artist Collective, we launched multiple new showcases and have already sold more than $60,000 in locally made artwork this year, with a goal of reaching $100,000 by the end of the year. Every sale helps support the local artists who make our creative community what it is.

And we're not done yet! We're looking forward to celebrating Día de los Muertos on November 1, marking our 40th anniversary with a special party on November 4, and welcoming the holiday season with our Holiday Makers Market launch party on November 20.

Forty years is a big milestone, and it's also an opportunity to look back at everything that brought us here. From programs that have grown into independent nonprofits to public art, artist opportunities, community celebrations, and so much more, our history is full of stories worth sharing.

So, in honor of our 40th anniversary, here are 40 facts about the Arts Council, our work, and the impact we've made together over the past four decades.
