We’re so lucky that every summer, the Utah Symphony decides to call Park City home for their Deer Valley Music Festival. For the last seventeen years, the symphony orchestra has paired with world-class artists to bring us beautiful music in a stunning, outdoor setting.

Though the summer season was cancelled last year due to Covid-19, the Utah Symphony was able to reschedule most of the originally scheduled performances and plans to host its festival from July 2nd through August 7th, 2021.

According to a recent press release, rescheduled concerts for 2021 include " Patriotic Pops featuring Capathia Jenkins on July 2, Kool & the Gang on July 9, Super Diamond on July 16, The Magical Music of Harry Potter on July 23, Take Me Home: The Music of John Denver starring Jim Curry on July 24, Little River Band on July 30, 1812 Overture with Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 on July 31 and The Beach Boys on August 7. Additionally, two new performances have been added to the festival’s 2021 schedule: Kristin Chenoweth on July 10 and  The Temptations on July 17.”

Each performance will take place at Deer Valley’s Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater, where guests can bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets, as well as snacks and drinks.

Tickets are still available for last year’s rescheduled concerts, and for those that bought tickets for 2020, they have been automatically moved to the rescheduled 2021 dates. Tickets for the newly scheduled Kristin Chenoweth and The Temptations concerts will go on sale on Tuesday, June 9th at 12pm MDT.

With this summer’s diverse and packed schedule, there’s something for everyone. For the refined classical music enthusiast, you might check out Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 performed by 2018 Gina Bachauer Gold Medalist Changyong Shin, which will be followed by Tchaikovsky’s famous and well-loved 1812 overture. The latter piece wouldn’t be complete without live cannon blasts. There’s always The Beach Boys, who have more than five decades of touring under the belts, and dozens of chart-topping songs to sing along to. And still, the musical theater lover might rush to snag a ticket to see Kristin Chenoweth, who had a beloved career singing Glinda in “Wicked” on Broadway.

These concerts sell out, so it’s best to get your tickets early. More information here

For those hoping to see some live music for the first time in over a year (but don’t want to wait for the summer), the Utah Symphony resumed in person performances on March 25th 2021. A full schedule, which includes a mix of in-person events in the concert hall and on-demand events for virtual listeners, can be found here

We can’t wait to see our whole community in-person this summer!
