Broadway Faces with Randy Barton & Robyn Cage

Our historic Egyptian Theatre has been dark since they turned off the spotlights and locked the doors. “We were the first to shut down,” says Theatre Manager/Director Randy Barton. “ We had three sold out nights for the band “Moe” and fans were flying in from everywhere to see them.  We made the hard decision to close on 3/12.  This was voluntary – not by order.”

Like many businesses and nonprofits they've had to think outside the box to invent a new way to be 'Covid Cool' and keep guests safely entertained.

Beginning the end of May and running through July on Monday through Thursday evenings at 7 pm, Barton along with Robyn Cage, will perform Broadway Faces, an entertaining show including familiar Broadway melodies and standards.

Cage, who was born in the Utah desert, graduated from The Boston Conservatory and became an accomplished actress in New York City, returned to Utah to write and record her own original music. Working with Grammy-nominated producers she has released several critically acclaimed albums and tours regionally with her own band and nationally with 'The Airplane Family' (alumni of Jefferson Airplane, Jefferson Starship, Hot Tuna and The Grateful Dead) singing Grace Slick's repertoire.

Starting out slowly and following all the recommended guidelines, the curtain is going up first for devoted members of The Pharaoh Club. Like many nonprofits, The Egyptian depends on a supportive membership to help subsidize the operations and programming. According to Barton, “Pharaohs rescued our theatre after the last recession in 2009!  That is when the program began.  The Pharaoh Club is a fabulous social group made up of couples and individuals who support the Theatre. Choose your level of support and benefits. Any package can be customized.  Membership is good for one full year from the date you sign up.  Membership is for up to two individuals.  Pharaoh membership - Tax Deductible!”

Membership has its advantages so Pharaohs received an email the end of May which outlined the plan which limits nightly attendance to 44 people sitting in reserved socially distanced seats.

Tickets and a surprise swag bag are complimentary and each attendee will receive information on all the measures The Egyptian Theatre staff are implementing and all the required social distancing actions for guests.

If you aren't already a member of The Egyptian Pharaoh Club, please consider joining in and being Covid Cool!
