Know Your Voting Options for the November 3rd Election

There's a lot to know about voting this month in Summit County. We’ve put together a quick guide so that you know your options, deadlines, and voting locations. 

Voter Registration: 

Most importantly, the deadline to register to vote is October 23rd 2020. Make sure to register now. You can check your registration status, track your mail ballot, and register to vote here: https://vote.utah.gov/

Voting by Mail: 

All eligible voters have received or will receive a ballot in the mail (these were sent out on Oct 13th). Summit County is asking that all who receive a ballot and are able to vote independently and without assistance, vote using their “By Mail” ballot. 

Your ballot needs to be postmarked on or before November 2nd or dropped in a drop box before 8pm on Election Day. 

Ballot Drop Box Locations: 

There are several ballot drop box locations, and dropping your ballot off can help to alleviate added demand on USPS. In Summit County, you can drop off your ballot at: 

1. Coalville City Hall - 10 No Main

2. County Clerk’s Office - 60 N Main, Coalville

3. Summit County Services Building: 11 N Main, Kamas. Box is located at the entrance on the East side of the building off of the parking lot. Opn 8am-5pm Monday-Friday

4. Park City Municipal Building - 445 Marsac Avenue

5. The Market at Park City - 1500 Snow Creek Dr.

6. Sheldon Richins Building - 1885 W Ute Blvd, Park City: Open 10am-6pm Monday-Friday and 10am-2pm on Saturday. Located at the North Entrance by the car charging stations. 

7. Fresh Market - Jeremy Ranch - 3151 Kilby Rd, Park City

Early Voting: 

While the General Election will take place primarily by-mail, there are options for early voting at the Summit County Courthouse (Conference Room #1, 60 N Main, Coalville). You can vote between October 20-23 from 8am-5pm, on Oct 24th from 10am- 6pm, Oct 26th from 8am-5pm, Oct 27-29th from 8am-7pm, and Oct 30 from 8am-5pm. 

Election Day Voting: 

If you’ve missed early in-person voting, there will also be a drive-through vote center on Nov 3rd from 7am-8pm at the Summit County Fairgrounds in Coalville. Replacement ballots and same day registration will be available. 

The Ballot:

There’s a lot to vote for in the November 2020 election. In addition to the federal positions, Summit County residents will be voting for a variety of State positions, including Attorney General, Governor, Lieutenant Governor, State Auditor, State Treasurer, State Senate, State House, and State Board of Education.  There are also a number of judicial seats to be filled including positions on the Utah Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, District Court, and Juvenile Court. Finally, be aware of positions up for election on the Summit County Council and within the local school boards.
