In this blog series we feature Park City Public Art Board Members favorite local art pieces. See public art through new eyes and experience what makes these pieces so special according to our Public Art Board members. Once you’ve read our blog, go experience these public art pieces for yourself!

In this blog post we feature a favorite from Park City Public Art Board Member, Jennifer Gardner.

Her favorite Park City Public Art piece is the outdoor sound garden off the Poison Creek Trail.

There are several things about this piece that make it special. Some of the things that Jennifer appreciates about the Sound Garden is that it is made up of organic parts, and its location is set amongst the trees, just off a popular public trail. This makes the location very accessible, yet you come up on it almost as a surprise.

Jennifer also notes that its simplicity invites you to participate in making art. Art seems more accessible and easier to comprehend. Finally, the Sound Garden is a three dimensional art piece that invokes the three manners in which humans learn: visual, auditory and kinesthetic.

See the Sound Garden for yourself just off the Poison Creek Trail in Park City! Thanks to PAAB member Jennifer for the insight. Stay tuned for more Park City public art favorites in the coming months.
