The annual Summit County Fair  is always a local event that many look forward to, however this year due to the current state of the COVID-19 pandemic, the fair will look a little different.

While many favorites like the rodeo, demolition derby and more will be cancelled, some events will continue in a modified format  including the annual Fine Arts Exhibit. The Fine Arts Exhibit gives local artists the opportunity to share their creative work with the public. This year, the Fine Arts Exhibit will be displayed in a virtual format on the Summit County Fair and Arts Council’s websites.

Fine Arts Exhibit submission categories include photography, oil/acrylic painting, watercolor, graphic arts, sculpture, pottery, glass and metal. Last year, we had 77 participating artists, 163 artwork submissions, and 176 ribbons were awarded. Over 2,828  people enjoyed the Fine Arts Exhibit in the Ledges Event Center over it’s 3-day run last year.

This year, Summit County residents can submit artwork for the Virtual Exhibit by filling out this form emailing a high resolution .jpg or .png to admin@pcscarts.org by July 31st. The Fine Art Exhibit will be available to view online at pcscarts.org and summitcountyfair.org on Thursday, August 6th and run through Saturday, August 8th. While traditional jurying (first, second and third place ribbons) will not be distributed this year, County Council will review the submissions and select one adult piece and one youth piece of artwork to be added to the Summit County Fine Art Collection. Honorariums will be awarded for the purchase of the two artists selected.

Show off your creative talent and enter a piece of artwork in the Summit County Fair! Complete rules and regulations are available here.
