Sundance Film Festival 2021

The 2021 Sundance Festival is exploring more options as they begin to expand into other cities. For the last 40 years the festival has taken place in Park City, Utah. With the pandemic still making so many events uncertain, not knowing if they will be able to carry on tradition, the festival has adapted to this uncertainty by offering an online platform for audiences to view.

They are also discussing expanding into 20 other cities cinemas for next years festival. Of course, the festival will still happen in Park City. The expansion of offering the festival in other cities will allow those in their communities to co-create with partners and put on independent films that fit with their community in which they serve.

The festivals start date has also changed to January 21, 2021, to allow more time as the festival will span across many cities as well as online. This is subject to change with the pandemic and a potential presidential inauguration.
