Local singer and songwriter, Alicia Stockman, is headed to Nashville to record her first full length studio album. If you’re a local, you might recognize Alicia, who played around the Park City, Salt Lake, and Heber areas with her band, Bonanza Town, for many years. Since going solo, Alicia has been featured at the Rockwell Room, Urban Lounge, Utah Arts Festival, Park City Songwriter Festival, and toured through Texas and in Nashville.

Now, our community is rallying behind Alicia as she breaks into the national folk and Americana music scene. Since she started her Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign, more than 160 backers helped Alicia reach her $15,000 goal in just 72 hours. Those funds will cover the costs of producing an album that has been “literal years” in the making.

A long-time mentor of Alicia’s, Mary Bragg, is producing the album next month in Nashville. But, Alicia says, “this is just the beginning. Even though we’ve reached our ambitious first Kickstarter goal, I’ve left the campaign open because an additional $5,000 could help publicize the album once it is made.”

The initial budget didn’t account for the cost of marketing — and marketing is what will bring the album out to the world. A publicist and PR team are so important once Alicia releases the album to the public in July, 2021. With this additional fundraising, Stockman could get radio play and be featured on Spotify playlists and other digital streaming services.

Our community has been incredibly generous. Those who haven’t had a chance to donate, can contribute to Alicia’s dream budget here

Alicia has released music in the past. Her Spotify channel, which features a 6 track EP record, is a great place to get a sense of her style. Alicia says, “My biggest inspirations are Patty Griffin, the Indigo Girls, and Jewel. I’d put myself in the folk and Americana genres with a bit of blues influence as well.”

Finally, Alicia’s been featured in lots of local press recently. Check out articles from the Park RecordPark City Style Magazine, and Moab Sun News

We can’t wait to support Alicia on her journey to Nashville through her Kickstarter Campaign. We wish her luck throughout the recording process, and eagerly await her album’s release!
