The Park City Library Goes Virtual

The Park City Library is supporting its community throughout the Covid19 pandemic with unique and creative virtual programming. Their team is finding inventive ways to engage the community and continue to bring their outstanding collection of books, e-books, periodicals, and audio-visual materials accessible to the community.

As of June 15th, the Library is offering in-person expanded services, such as computers, printers, and study tables that are first-come, first-serve with a library card. In addition to their temporary hours (Monday-Saturday 10am-5pm) , there are reserved times for vulnerable populations on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays from 10-11am.

Many, however, are still looking to utilize the library from the comfort of their home. The Park City Library offers daily curb-side pickup, and virtual classes. There’s something for everyone: from Virtual Baby & Me to Crafternoons 2 Go to Virtual Music and Movement, and patio classes such as Outside Storytime and Yoga.

Katrina Kmak, the Youth and Spanish Services Librarian writes, “my main goal in going virtual for storytimes was to provide the same quality of service in a different platform.  I wanted the kids to know it would be a similar experience as  if they were to come to the library, but I’d just be on a screen.  Having that sense of ‘normalcy’ and routine is important for kids, and adults too!  I missed doing storytimes just as much as folks missed coming to them.”

The Library is working hard to enhance and preserve its community engagement and outreach despite the switch to virtual. We thank them for their tremendous work!
