Wasatch Back Author Celebration at Park City Library

Park City Library is once again hosting the ‘Wasatch Back Author Celebration” involving authors who either live in or have written about the Wasatch Back. It will be held on Saturday, August 28 from 10 am to noon outside, on the patio. Overflow guests might want to bring camp chairs or blankets.

“This year’s group of authors is an interesting combination of fiction and memoir,” says Kate Mapp, Adult Services Librarian. “The authors will all make a presentation and take part in a panel discussion. A reception and opportunity to purchase books from the authors will follow. Refreshments will be provided by Lucky Ones and Friends of the Park City Library. “

The presenters include:

Joe Totten has been writing professionally for more than 20 years, creating entertaining advertising campaigns for some of the most well-known companies in the country including Intel, Microsoft and Verizon. In 2016, Joe won the State of Utah's Writing Contest for his short story The Starling Killers. He will be discussing his novel The Law of Capture.  

Marianne Bohr is a freelance writer and travel blogger who married her high school sweetheart and travel partner. She’s been traveling and writing for years in addition to teaching middle school French. She’ll be discussing her book Gap Year Girl. 

Art Bell is a former media executive best known for creating, building, and managing successful cable television channels. He developed the concept of The Comedy Channel (which became Comedy Central in 1991) while at HBO and served as both Senior Vice President of Programming and Senior Vice President of Marketing and Promotion. He’ll discuss is book Constant Comedy: How I Started Comedy Central and Lost my Sense of Humor.

Dr. Alison Delgado is a pediatrician on staff at Summit Pediatrics and a life-long runner. She experienced a near fatal accident and beat the odds with her recovery. She shares her story in her memoir My Race for Life.

Zack Matheson, has been a professional videographer, a music writer, a radio station general manager, a DJ, a wine salesman, a record store clerk, a brewery worker and a door-to-door dictionary salesman and a writer and restaurateur. He has combined his knowledge from those last two endeavors to create a new work of fiction called Recipe for Chaos.
