A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder Arrives at the Egyptian

Set to hit the stage on Friday, May 19th, the Ziegfeld Theatre Co. is back at the Egyptian Theatre with a production of A Gentleman’s Guide to Love & Murder. The 2014 Tony Award-winning Musical combines a dark comedy with a captivating score and an array of characters you won’t forget. Audiences can expect to be treated to Edwardian style, classic farce, and beautiful operatic singing.

Based on Roy Horniman’s 1907 novel Israel Rank: The Autobiography of a Criminal,  The story follows middle-class Englishman Monty Navarro on the night of his mother’s funeral as he decides in order to become the heir to the earldom, he must secretly kill everyone in line before him.

You might recognize the name Jake Larrabee as the Egyptian’s house photographer, video technician and videographer. However this time around, Larrabee is pulling away from the behind the scenes and taking center stage playing the entire D’Ysquith family, a role that encapsulates 10 different characters.

Larrabee’s various characters include: Lord Adalbert D’Ysquith, Eighth Earl of Highhurst; Lord Henry D’Ysquith, his heir; Lord Asquith D’Ysquith Sr.; Asquith D’Ysquith Jr.; the Reverend Lord Ezekial D’Ysquith; Major Lord Bartholomew D’Ysquith; Lady Salome D’Ysquith Pumphrey; Lady Hyacinth D’Ysquith, and Chauncey D’Ysquith.
