Local Artists & Vendors Given Opportunity to Shine this Summer

The Arts Council of Park City & Summit County announces the return of the Summit Arts Showcase, set to take place July 14 & 15, 2023 at the Red Barn in Oakley, UT!

We’re now accepting applications from local artists and artisans for this annual summer art show and market. The event has grown to accommodate more makers and artists than ever, expanding the footprint of the Showcase to both inside and outside the Red Barn venue.

New this year, we’ve extended applications to include artisanal goods, in addition to fine art. Makers and vendors are welcome to apply to showcase and sell creative items at the two-day event ranging from handmade soaps, honey, candles, skincare, produce, baked goods, and handcrafted products. Fine artwork can range from contemporary to traditional and include a variety of mediums from acrylic to watercolor to photography, ceramics, fiber arts, and jewelry.

Set against the Uinta mountain range, the Oakley Red Barn is a gorgeous setting to showcase local creatives and small businesses. “Our goal is to produce a fun, creative event that is centered around community gathering where residents and visitors can explore all that Summit County has to offer. Our creative workforce is amazing—we have so many artists, makers, and vendors who contribute to our local community. The Summit Art Showcase is a celebration of those residents and an opportunity to support them” notes Jocelyn Scudder, Executive Director of the Arts Council.

The event is scheduled for Friday, July 14 from 4-8pm & Saturday, July 15 from 10am-5pm. Both days will be filled with artistic entertainment, including musical performances provided in partnership with Mountain Town Music, live art demonstrations, nonprofit partner activations, and food trucks.

The deadline for local artists and vendors to apply for the Summit Arts Showcase is Friday, June 9, 2023 by 5PM. Space is limited, and priority will be given to Summit County residents.

To apply, artists are required to fill out an artist application and send three images (.jpg or .png) of their artwork or product to emma@pcscarts.org by the deadline.

Artists and vendors will be selected by a committee of local artists and community members from Summit County. All applicants will be notified about the status of their application by Friday, June 16, 2023. If selected, the registration fee to participate in the two day event is $100.
