The Arts Council is thrilled to promote Kimball Art Center’s newest exhibition “When the Evening Has Passed and Tomorrow Comes.” The exhibition will be housed in Kimball Art Center’s new home at the YARD at 1251 Kearns Blvd in Park City. Starting on March 23rd, free entry will begin with timed-entries to ensure adherence to Covid-19 guidelines. You shouldn’t miss it!

In a recent press release, executive director of Kimball Art Center, Aldy Milliken writes, "The YARD is where we will further unveil our vision to the community-at-large and invite exhibitions that connect with national dialogues in both dynamic and meaningful ways.” The space is actually Park City’s largest and most flexible event space, with more than 9,000 square feet of venue space. For Kimball Art Center, that will look like four galleries, four education studios, and an event cafe space.

With the opening of the new location in the YARD, Kimball Art Center will also mark their return to in-person education classes in late March. These include weekly programs, lessons, workshops, Spring Break camps, and Art Center summer camps, which are community favorites and have been sorely missed throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.

Finally, the Kimball Art Center has released a beautiful description of their opening exhibition. It reads, “When Evening Has Passed and Tomorrow Comes explores the work of four vanguard artists: ruby onyinyechi amanze, Nicola López, Cauleen Smith, and Saya Woolfalk. Each artist borrows strategies from the genres of fantasy and science fiction, creating fictional worlds that question our ways of seeing and being. Their poetic alternate universes, simultaneously positioned between nowhere and everywhere, reconsider identities, histories, and geographies. Alluring yet at times disconcerting, the work by these artists prompts us to better consider the future that we are building.”

Additionally, for those looking to explore the art with the help of experts, Education Family Tours are available on Saturday March 20th, and private  bespoke tours are available prior to the official opening between March 18th and March 21st. Finally, a hand-on art educational component is sure to be a hit among the whole family.
