Latino Arts Festival Brings Colorful Celebration to Canyons Village

The Arts Council of Park City & Summit County is excited to announce the 7th Annual Latino Arts Festival’s artists and performance lineup, along with a new venue! The lively, three-day event will take place June 16-18, 2023 at Canyons Village at Park City Mountain and will feature 25+ visual artists, musicians, dancers, and foods that celebrate Latin American cultures. Artists will be displaying and selling their original artwork and creative goods, such as paintings, weavings, clothing, leatherwork, ceramics, jewelry, etc.

“Attendees will have an abundance of opportunities to immerse themselves in the traditions and beauty of Latino and Hispanic cultures through vibrant artistic expressions and hands-on art activations,” said Andrea Zavala, Community Engagement & Inclusion Coordinator for the Arts Council. “We will showcase artists, performers and chefs from Peru, Mexico, Chile, Brazil, Colombia, Argentina, and more.”

This free, family-friendly festival is the perfect way for people of all backgrounds to interact through arts and culture. Several nonprofit partners will be providing hands-on experiences that include the Kimball Art Center kids craft tent, Artes de Mexico en Utah poetry tent, and a CONNECT Summit County wellness tent.

In addition, local artist Clara Amezcua will be creating a larger-than-life ‘Alebrije’ – a brightly colored fantastic creature that represents a classic style of Mexican folk art. This sculpture will be an interactive piece, which will provide everyone with the opportunity to collaborate and paint along with her.

Art is a powerful vehicle through which we can all gain new perspectives, illustrate our shared human experience, and understand each other better. Through artistic exhibition, storytelling, and cultural celebration, the festival serves as an inclusive space for people to be curious, inspired, and connected.
