Mountain Town Music's Door 2 Door Tour // Bringing the Music to the People

On Mountain Town Music's web page is the statement “In the face of uncertainty, music is a social balm for soothing anxiety, enhancing community connections and celebrating our community spirit.”  They've streamed music virtually for the last month or so and plan to bring us live music in some novel new  places and even right to our door this summer.

Brian Richards, Executive Director of MTM explains the two main delivery methods. “For a donation, Mountain Town Music will bring the Door 2 Door Experience to you, wherever you are - your driveway, your street, your backyard, your Cul De Sac. This will feature your own personal Live Music Concert to enjoy with your friends, neighbors and/or family.”

The Door 2 Door will be a tiered donation based cost. ($500 for a solo artist, $750 for a trio and $1,000 for a full band) and a per person based cost for catering; Savory Kitchens and bartending service from Top Shelf.  Richards added, “We will also offer lawn and yard games, tables, lights and other party supplies a la carte.  The donation comes with a Mountain Town Music Vibe Tribe membership that can be split up accordingly.  The idea is for neighbors, friends and family to "pitch in" and bring the live music experience to them - think 10 couples each pitch in $150 for a band, food and spirits - that's less than they would spend on a night out going to see music.”

He hasn't forgotten the importance of Wednesday community concerts. “On Wednesdays, to replace the Grand Valley Bank Community Concert Series - a local tradition dating back 20 years, Mountain Town Music will partner with High West Distillery and parade bands through select neighborhoods throughout Summit County. We'll celebrate our community and invite the general public to sit out in their yards and driveways to enjoy some live music as it passes by.  These will also be streaming live via Facebook.”

Brian has a great philosophy for us all to remember. “It's up to us, as a community, to make the most of the situation we are in.  This isn't happening to us, it's happening for us.  We have a unique opportunity to create the way we want to entertain ourselves and seek out good times.  I think this summer will reinvigorate the creativity of the Arts & Cultural community and gain a better appreciation within the Park City Community.  Let's make memories happen!”

The county restrictions and guidelines are somewhat in flux and could change over time so be sure to check Mountain Town Music website for booking details and the neighborhood dates. mountaintownmusic.org
