PCMC Seeks Submissions for the 2023 Annual Cindy Matsumoto Historic Preservation Award

Park City Municipal (PCMC) is seeking  proposals from artists to design and produce a work of art to commemorate the 2023 Cindy Matsumoto Historic Preservation Award. All media, materials and themes will be considered. The art will be installed and publicly displayed in City Hall and should reflect this year’s award recipient: King Con Ore Bin.

The Cindy Matsumoto Historic Preservation Award aims to recognize historic preservation projects around town that are good examples of Park City’s guidelines for historic districts and sites.

High West Distillery was selected as the award’s first recipient when it was first started back in 2011. It was later renamed after former City Council Member Cindy Matsumoto to honor her contributions to historic preservation in town.

Other previous award recipients include 562 Main Street in 2015, the Egyptian Theatre in 2017 and 1141 Park Avenue last year.

Awarded by the Historic Preservation Board annually, the selection committee will choose finalists in May-June this year with the final selection tentatively scheduled for June 9th.
