Scare Those Crows!

Scarecrows

When the weather turns crisp and the aspen leaves change colors, an unusual crop grows up, seemingly overnight, along the trail behind McPolin Farm. The local crows are never happy about it, because it’s time for the annual Scarecrow Festival.

Families, friends, or groups sign up through the PCMARC for a scarecrow slot along the trail where they will erect their own creative, scary, funny, or traditional scarecrow creation. Sometimes several scarecrows together form a storyline of related characters. Sometimes they are political, and sometimes they are familiar. Sometimes they fall apart after too much exposure to the weather. Oftentimes old ski clothes dress the scarecrows in true Park City fashion.

As always, the scarecrow-lined path makes for enjoyable walking, running, stroller pushing, blading, dog walking, or bicycling during the all-too- short fall season. The scarecrows were assembled on September 23rd and will be up through the fall for the community's enjoyment!  Take a stroll and check out the fun and spooky creations!
