Park City Celebrates the Holiday Season with Snowfest

It’s the most wonderful time of the year and countless places in Utah are celebrating the holiday season. However, Park City has a special stretch of holiday festivities to enjoy starting December 20th through January 5th. Join the magic of the holiday season in Park City during Snowfest. Celebrations abound, from Santa Comes Down Town Lift to the 57th Annual Torchlight Parade, fireworks, festive carolers, spectacular ice sculptures, holiday movie nights, special daily surprises and more. Your favorite holiday memories are sure to be made with Snowfest in Park City.

Some of the featured events with Snowfest this year include “Santa Comes Down Town Lift”, “57th Annual Torchlight Parade”, “New Year's Eve Celebration and Fireworks”, “Holiday Movie Night”, “Silver Sky Nights”, and “Meet the Avalanche Dogs.”

On December 21st, Santa Comes Down Town Lift will be one of the 1st featured events. Santa arrives in true Park City style – via the Town Lift at this iconic tradition. “Watch as his magical sleigh descends into our historic town and enjoy live holiday music, hot cocoa, festivities and more. Plus, Santa will be ready for holiday photos upon his arrival.” This will be a fantastic way to start of Snowfest for members of the whole family. However, there is one featured event that occurs before this. On the 20th, the 1st Meet the Avalanche Dogs event will take place. “Get up close and personal with our ski patrollers’ best friends. Meet the patrol teams, enjoy some paws-itively delightful photo ops and learn how these amazing pups work every day on the mountain.”


When it comes to the Holiday Movie Night, there are a wide selection of movies and dates scheduled. On December 20th, A Christmas Story screening is planned with Photos with Santa, Hot Cocoa and Cookies, and Crafts to go along with the film. The second film is Elf, alongside Photos with Santa, Hot Cocoa and Cookies, and Crafts on the 23rd. The next movie night will be for How the Grinch Stole Christmas on the 27th. Lastly, the last movie night will be for The Polar Express on January 4th.

Another featured event in Snowfest is Silver Sky Nights. On December 22nd & January 3rd, “The night sky lights up and the village is filled with live music, hot cocoa, sweet treats and more. Just after sunset, enjoy spectacular fireworks theatrics, with a special grand silver finale.” On the 22nd, live music will be by Streetcorner Boogie. Hot Cocoa and Donuts, Crafts and Glow Sticks will be provided throughout the event.



The New Year's Eve Celebration and Fireworks is a fantastic way to celebrate the new year. “Park City rings in the new year at Canyons Village. Celebrate the start of 2020 with live music on the Village Stage and a grand fireworks display at 7:30pm.” DJ Velvet, Live Music by The Cover Dogs, Fireworks, S'mores and Hot Cocoa, and Avy Dogs are to make sure this will be a New Year’s Eve Celebration that will be remembered for a long time.

The last featured event is the 57th Annual Torchlight Parade. On December 24th the annual Torchlight Parade begins at Park City Mountain Village. “With torches in hand, Park City’s ski and snowboard instructors are a parade of lights as they lead Santa Claus down the mountain in a festive procession to Park City Mountain Village. Join the tradition and enjoy tasty treats, hot chocolate, and endless holiday cheer at the base of PayDay Express.” Park City ski and snowboard instructors will lead the procession down the mountain culminating in the one-and-only Santa Claus riding down Payday Express to join the celebration with hot chocolate and cookies. With live music, this an event for everyone in the family to enjoy.
