Art on the Trails // Get Out on the Trail & Create, Sept. 5 - 13

Art on the Trails is a program that connects art and nature. In the past it has featured pop-up creative performances, such as hip-hop dance, ballet, Spanish guitar and more, along the McLeod Creek Trail between Copper Moose Farm Stand and Temple Har Shalom in Park City. However, this year due to the impacts and concerns of COVID-19, it’s going to look a little different.

The PCSC Arts Council is pleased to announce a Call for Artists for the 2020 Summit Arts Showcase, located at the Red Barn in Oakley, UT on July 18th. This event, is an annual juried summer art show, the only one of its kind on the Eastern side of the County. The Arts Council produces the annual Summit Arts Showcase to support local artists and provide an opportunity for them to present their work.

Now Accepting Artist Applications for Fourth-Annual Monster Drawing Rally

Kimball Art Center and Park City Summit County Arts Council will once again team up to host this year’s fourth-annual Monster Drawing Rally, an event that allows artists to interact with spectators, collectors, and other local artists. The organizations are now accepting artist applications for the event, which will be held May 15,th 2020 at Kimball Art Center.

Call for Artists // Winter Arts Showcase 2020

Applications are now open for Winter Arts Showcase, an artisanal market and art showcase featuring local artists and developed in partnership with the Park City Summit County Arts Council and the Park City Professional Artists Association (‘PCPAA’). The Showcase will take place President’s Day Weekend, February 15-16, at the Park City Community Church and will feature artwork and handcrafted artisanal goods for sale.

Show Off Your Artwork at the 2019 Summit County Fair

The annual Summit County Fair brings the community together for a week of food, fun, exhibits, demonstrations, contests, and rides. In addition to the demolition derby (always a locals favorite), the livestock showings, the 4H displays, parade, pie baking contest, and the little buckeroo rodeo, the Fair hosts the Fine Arts Exhibit  which gives local artists the opportunity to share their creative work with the public. Admission to all Fair events is free and a full schedule of activities is available on the Fair website.

Call For Artists // Tunnel Murals: Old Town Transit Center

Park City Municipal Corporation (PCMC) is currently requesting proposals for public art for a pedestrian and bicycle tunnel known as the Old Town Transit Center connector. Proposals will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Friday, March 10. “This is one of the final tunnels in City limits to be commissioned for public art,” states Jenny Diersen, PCMC Economic Development and Special Events Program Manager and staff to the Public Art Advisory Board. “We are excited to see what artists propose for the space, and to see this tunnel completed as it provides connectivity between Poison Creek Trail, Deer Valley Drive and the Old Town Transit Center.”

2019 FIS Snowboard, Freestyle, Freeski World Championships Breaking Boundaries Youth Film Contest Winners Announced

Jack Price was named the winner of the 2019 Breaking Boundaries Snowboard, Freestyle, and Freeski World Championships Youth Film Contest with his short film titled “Pushing the Boundaries.” The film contest was open to young filmmakers ages 21 and younger to tell their own stories about breaking boundaries.

Park City Singers is Recruiting New Members

The Park City Singers is a community choir welcome to all, and they are currently recruiting new members!

Renee Mox Hall, member of the Park City Singers explains “as a non-audition choir, beginners are welcome and not all members read music. Newer vocalists benefit from singing with those with more experience. All members receive a CD recording of their part which is also very instrumental to learning music. Choir membership is a learning experience for members, a contribution to and connection with the community and an avenue to new friendships."

Summit County Public Art Releases Call to Artists for South Summit Services Building

Calling all artists! The Summit County Public Art Advisory Board ("SCPAAB") has released an RFP for artwork in the newly constructed South Summit Services Building in Kamas, UT to creatively celebrate multicultural heritage and the stunning natural environment in Summit County. SCPAAB is seeking artists to propose a concept for highly creative three-dimensional artwork to be placed in the interior hallway of the new building.
