Park City Library is combining the joy of reading, the power of literacy and social engagement with their new Action Book Club. It’s a win, win, win situation! “Action Book Club is a great way for all ages to read about a particular topic and then take action around that topic,” explains Adult Services Librarian, Kate Mapp. “This is meant to drive conversation at home and amongst your neighbors, friends and family.” The summer theme of “Come Together” begins in June and will focus on unity, equity and understanding.

Encore! Encore! Park City Film’s Twilight Drive In Theatre returns this summer! During summer 2020, Park City Film, like so many nonprofits, invented ways to make up for lost income and engage their film-loving fans. The Twilight Drive-In was launched without a clue for how well it would do. Legendary civil rights leader and co-founder of the United Farm Workers’ Union, Dolores Huerta was invited to be one of the featured speakers to the half million marchers gathered in Washington D.C. She chose not to go. Instead, the thousands of marchers who paraded down Park City’s Main Street were honored to have Huerta, right here, to speak to our crowd and inspire everyone to stay strong and stand up.

Like all local organizations, Park City Film, got creative to continue providing cinematic experiences for eager fans even with theatres closed. They launched ‘Virtual Cinema’ in April 2020, with screenings of the top independent films being released, complete with post-film panels and free screenings. According to Katy Wang, Executive Director, “It was a great way to stay connected to our community and help to support the Independent film ecosystem when movies theaters around the world were closed.”
