BRANDed PC had it’s opening night on Main Street last night, and has been an amazing success! Thanks to local makers, we have a great spread of exciting and high quality merchandise— there’s truly something for everyone, making it the perfect place to buy unique last minute holiday gifts for anyone.

New this year to BRANDed PC is a singer/songwriter series featuring four local bands: The Backyard Revival, Carlos Emjay, Alicia Stockman, and Katya & Moodlite. The bands will play live Wedesday Dec. 18- Saturday Dec. from 6-7 pm. Each band gives their own unique taste of the music scene in Park City.

Latino Arts Festival 2018

Showcasing the talents of the local Latino community, this free, all-ages event celebrates creative expression through fine arts and crafts, folkloric dance, live music, performances, food, and a Sundance film.

St. Regis Big Stars, Bright Nights Summer Lineup and New Location

Live music and outdoors concerts are cornerstones of a great Park City summer. Both residents and visitors alike look forward to grabbing a blanket and a few friends to enjoy the many musical opportunities around town. In that tradition, this summer marks the 15th year in a row that Park City Institute (PCI) presents its outdoor concert series, the St. Regis Big Stars, Bright Nights. This year comes with a twist however. After learning late last year that Deer Valley wasn’t going to renew PCI’s contract to hold the concerts at the resort, there was a scramble to select and secure a new venue for this summer’s great lineup.

Park City Follies // 18 Years of Lampooning Laughs

Park City Follies, the unique play parodying 'all things Park City' is taking over the Egyptian stage for its 18th season on April 20 - 22 and 24 - 29.  

Director, Paul Tan and head writer, Tom Clyde, are joined by a creative team including Rick Klein, Andy Cier, Josh Martin and Terry Moffit. According to Moffit, “We work as a committee. All of us make suggestions, edit, and dream up story lines but Tom does most of the heavy lifting when it comes to the stage play.”

Everybody’s going to “kick off the Sunday shoes” when the Ziegfeld Theatre's production of Footloose comes to Park City's Egyptian Theatre.

Leading the way will be Aathaven Tharmarajah, starring as Ren McCormack. This role was made famous by Kevin Bacon in the 1984 movie. He has performed in a wide range of high school productions, but now, a freshman at Universtiy of Utah, this is his debut with Ziegfeld and in a starring role, no less.

Local singer/songwriter/musician, Elizabeth Hareza, is taking her music on the road again. As a duo project in 2017, English & Hareza did a two month tour of Europe, performing nearly every day in cities across The Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, France, Austria, Scotland and England. Aaron English, a singer songwriter from Seattle, WA, had already planned the tour and invited Elizabeth to join in.

The Sound of Nashville Alternative Music at the Sundance Film Festival

Film and music go hand in hand. The essence and mood of a scene in a film can be made with music (think the two terrifying notes in JAWS, Rocky’s pump-up music during his famous workout montage, or the simple image of John Cusack in Say Anything holding up a boombox blaring ‘In Your Eyes’ by Peter Gabriel). The music in these scenes made them iconic, and will forever be associated with these films.

That being said, the Sundance Film Festival does not ignore the importance of music. The Festival offers an array creative experiences throughout the 10 day event, many of them being performances. Every year the music scene is quality, and one company makes the scene especially interesting by bringing in the sound of Nashville alternative music into the mix. An array of artists, musicians and songwriters will showcase their talents, and this year, local Summit County musicians are also given an opportunity to get involved.

Jamie Wilcox has seen tremendous growth in her 6 years as director of The Egyptian Youtheatre program. The program offers from 15-18 weekly classes each fall and spring session and 20 summer camps for ages 5-18 and 2 outreach projects each summer for students age 5 and up.

Tickets are on sale now for 'ELF The Musical Jr'. Based on the beloved holiday film, this hilarious fish-out-of-water comedy follows Buddy the Elf in his quest to find his true identity. Get into the holiday spirit and support the Egyptian Youtheatre program!

The Egyptian Theater // Dedicated to Enriching Lives through the Performing Arts

Live theatrical performances have long been a centerpiece of Park City's culture. In the late 1800's, the ornate Park City Opera House was located near our current site. On a warm June night in 1898, fire roared downhill from the American Hotel and quickly consumed most of the town, including the Opera House. In a Determined effort to restore live theatre to the town, the Dewey Theatre soon opened its doors in 1899 on the site of what is now the Egyptian Theatre. Giving A BLEEP is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization who believes in building community and supporting all nonprofits in the community. Their major fundraiser is an annual performance of “an original show by the people, for the people.” Writers creatively weave local issues, quirks, passions and personalities into a satirical glimpse at the life we love. 

This year’s performances of Giving A BLEEP take place at Prospector Square Theatre on October 27 and 28 as well as Nov 3 and 4.
