The idea for a Creative Directory emerged from the cultural planning and advocacy initiatives of Project ABC: art, beauty, culture, and is a result of community input gathered during the Project ABC planning process that ran from 2017-2018. Project ABC is a community wide cultural planning initiative that grew out of a desire to more effectively connect the arts and culture community and plan for the future.

Marsted was first inspired to write by her 2nd grade teacher, at the young age of 7. From then on she avidly brought journals on family vacations to take notes and typed up her version of the trip afterwards. Even with the passing of time, Marsted still writes daily. “Whether it be for an upcoming book or for personal enjoyment,” Marsted says, “she simply loves to write.“

Each pop-up concert offered listeners with a unique experience. Pianos at all pop-up concerts were artistically decorated, giving attendees the chance to look at and hear two very beautiful art forms.

DaSilva loves working with plaster and metallic and pigmented powders. She also loves to be outdoors, where she is inspired to create her own mediums using local newspaper and acrylics on canvas. While in Utah, DaSilva has found something profound about the space Antelope Island and how it has inspired her in her artwork.

Not only is Utah the 3rd fastest growing state for arts and culture, it also ranks first in live arts participation per capita. These numbers can all be attributed to the healthy, vibrant and diverse cultural scene Utah has cultivated. The Utah Cultural Alliance collected data and found that Utah’s cultural sector employs a little under 112 thousand Utans a year, while also generating $4 billion in earnings.
